IBM Sterling File Gateway Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain IBM Sterling File Gateway solutions for secure file transfer and integration.
• Manage inbound and outbound file transfer workflows, partner onboarding, and protocol configurations (FTP, SFTP, AS2, HTTPS).
• Monitor Sterling File Gateway operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SLAs for file exchanges are met.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and trading partners to understand file transfer requirements and implement solutions.
• Implement security measures including encryption, digital signatures, and certificate management.
• Create and maintain documentation for configuration, workflows, and operational procedures.
• Automate recurring tasks and optimize file transfer performance.
• Support upgrades, patching, and migration of Sterling File Gateway environments.
• Work closely with network, security, and application teams to ensure end-to-end data flow integrity.
• Provide production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for file transfer issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway or related Sterling B2B Integrator products.
• Strong knowledge of file transfer protocols: FTP, SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS.
• Experience in configuring file workflows, partner profiles, and file processing rules.
• Familiarity with PKI, SSL/TLS certificates, encryption standards, and secure file exchange best practices.
• Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot errors, and resolve operational issues.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting (Shell, Python) for automation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills and Certifications:

• IBM Certified Specialist – Sterling File Gateway or Sterling B2B Integrator.
• Experience integrating IBM Sterling File Gateway with ERP, CRM, or cloud applications.
• Knowledge of EDI standards and mappings (X12, EDIFACT) is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards (PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
• Understanding of cloud file transfer services and hybrid integration patterns.
