Role Overview
The HSE&C Performance and Change Management Advisor will play a critical role in supporting successful transformation and adoption of HSE&C initiatives across bp. The role focuses on implementing structured change management strategies and agile principles to drive alignment, cultural shift, and stakeholder engagement across global teams. The advisor will also coach and guide HSE&C Performance Analysts in delivering change efforts effectively and sustainably.
What You Will Deliver
Change Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement change management plans aligned with project goals
- Define scope, resources, and timelines for managing change initiatives
- Conduct change impact assessments to anticipate resistance and prepare mitigation plans
- Align change strategies with broader bp HSE&C objectives
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Identify and map all affected stakeholders across business units
- Create communication plans that ensure transparency and role clarity
- Establish feedback mechanisms to address concerns and resistance early
Training and Development
- Support development of training programs for new or improved processes and systems
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer
- Reinforce training through follow-ups, workshops, and monitoring of adoption rates
Process Alignment and Documentation
- Collaborate on updating procedures and policies to reflect changes
- Maintain documentation to support audit readiness and compliance tracking
Facilitating Behavioural Change
- Promote cultural and behavioural shifts aligned with agile and HSE&C values
- Empower stakeholders to take ownership of changes in their routines
- Leverage change champions to model desired behaviours
Monitoring and Measuring Progress
- Define and track KPIs for change success (e.g., reduced incident rates, adoption metrics)
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned
- Ensure sustainability and continuous improvement of change initiatives
Agile Coaching and Enablement
- Act as Agile coach for prioritized HSE&C central programs
- Support adoption of Agile ways of working and tools like Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Champion agile culture and address transformation challenges
What You Will Need To Be Successful
Educational Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Health, Safety & Environment
- Prosci Certified Change Practitioner (must)
- Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in change management, project management, or related fields
- Proven experience leading change in complex, cross-functional environments
- Agile experience preferred

- Experience developing tailored communication plans for diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage change timelines and resources effectively
- Experience using change management tools like Prosci templates and change impact assessments
- Calm and flexible under pressure with a pragmatic approach to shifting priorities
