Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Strategy & Business Development:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in domestic and international freight forwarding.
- Lead negotiations for major contracts, pricing, and service agreements.
2. Sales & Customer Relationship Management:
- Drive sales growth through team leadership, target setting, and performance monitoring.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Oversee account management and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
3. Pricing & Contract Management:
- Develop competitive pricing models and optimize freight rates based on market conditions and cost structures.
- Manage contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance and renegotiations when necessary.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams for contract reviews and approvals.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with finance for budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
- Partner with marketing to develop promotional campaigns and brand positioning.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to achieve sales targets and professional growth.
- Establish KPIs, conduct performance appraisals, and implement training programs.
6. Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting freight forwarding.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in commercial roles within freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation, with at least 5 years in senior management.
- Proven track record in sales, business development, and contract negotiations.
- Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Understanding of freight forwarding operations and global trade regulations
- Proficiency in CRM and ERP software
- Leadership and team-building expertise
