Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Strategy & Leadership:
- Define and execute commercial strategies in alignment with business goals.
- Oversee sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Drive profitability through strategic pricing, cost controls, and margin optimization.
2. Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Lead procurement functions including sourcing, negotiation, and vendor development.
- Establish procurement policies, monitor contract compliance, and control costs.
- Ensure supply chain reliability and mitigate procurement risks.
3. Contract & Risk Management:
- Negotiate and manage large contracts with customers, vendors, and partners.
- Identify and manage commercial risks including exposure to legal and compliance issues.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to commercial terms and conditions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with finance, operations, legal, and supply chain to enable smooth execution of contracts and commercial deals.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support business development and market expansion.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track commercial KPIs including revenue, cost-to-serve, contract performance, and customer profitability.
- Provide regular reports and strategic inputs to senior leadership and board.
Key Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or PGDM preferred.
- Experience:
- 12–20 years of experience in commercial operations, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, logistics, EPC, infrastructure, or FMCG preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Understanding of contract law and risk management
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools
