Job Description

Position Overview:

  • The Global Supply Engineer is responsible for ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of parts, materials, and equipment from a global supplier base. This role combines engineering expertise with supply chain acumen to support product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives across international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Development & Qualification

  • Identify, assess, and qualify new global suppliers to meet technical, cost, and delivery benchmarks
  • Conduct supplier audits (process, quality, capability) and drive improvement initiatives
  • Support cost-reduction and localization strategies

Technical Support & Manufacturing Engineering

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and production readiness of components
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and processes for compliance with quality and design standards

Quality & Compliance

  • Establish and uphold supplier quality standards
  • Resolve technical issues impacting supply chain performance
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with procurement teams to negotiate favorable cost, lead times, and supply agreements
  • Track and report on cost savings, productivity gains, and process improvements

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Ensure supplier readiness and capacity for new product launches across global locations
  • Act as the technical liaison between internal engineering teams and external suppliers

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years in manufacturing engineering, supplier development, or global sourcing
  • Practical experience with supplier audits, quality systems, and process capability evaluations

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, fabrication, raw materials)
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
