Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to work on the design and development of rotating and stationary components for Gas Turbines. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative design solutions that meet functionality, robustness, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, CAD modeling tools, and a focus on delivering high-quality products in the turbine industry.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Component Design:
• Design rotating and stationary components (e.g., blades & vanes, rotors, casings, combustors) for Gas Turbines to meet all design requirements such as functionality, robustness, cost-effectiveness, manufacturing, assembly, and service needs.
• Innovative Solutions:
• Develop and apply innovative design solutions that control design risks with methods like Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Robust Design Methods:
• Apply appropriate methods focusing on robust design, including tolerance analysis, standards, and design rules.
• Technical Documentation:
• Create, evaluate, review, and apply technical documents, including design philosophies, purchasing specifications, working specifications, drawings, BOM, Material Master (MM), checklists, manufacturing data, standard part calculations, and component descriptions.
• CAD Modeling & Reviews:
• Create, prepare, review 2D and 3D CAD models (using NX software) of individual and assembly components for Gas Turbine stationary and rotating parts. NX tool experience is preferred.
• Manufacturing/Assembly Drawings:
• Create, review, and modify manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication drawings for Gas Turbine components, ensuring they comply with Siemens' standard practices.
• Bill of Material (BOM) and Material Master:
• Review and understand the BOM, Material Master, and inspection specifications for Gas Turbine components.
• Seamless Collaboration:
• Ensure smooth transfer of product definition between CAD modelers and project leads, maintaining high quality in the design and development process.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Education:
• UG: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PG: Master's degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience:
• 6-10 years of experience in the design and product development of turbo machinery, specifically Gas Turbines and Steam Turbine components.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in design tools and CAD software, especially Pro-E and NX.
• Strong understanding of standard manufacturing processes, fit & tolerances.
• Experience in creating/reviewing manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication drawings for Gas Turbine components.
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Master, and material specifications.
• Exposure to SAP and Teamcenter is preferred.
