Job Description

  • ISO 26262 Expertise: Apply a strong understanding of ISO 26262 ('Road vehicles - Functional safety') and its methodologies.
  • Functional Safety Lifecycle: Work across various phases of the functional safety lifecycle, including:
  • Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
  • Defining Functional Safety Requirements (FSR)
  • Deriving Technical Safety Requirements (TSR)
  • Ensuring safety at the Software and Hardware Level
  • Safety Analysis: Conduct various safety analyses, including:
  • FMEA (Failure Modes and Effect Analysis) for system, software, and hardware.
  • FTA (Fault Tree Analysis).
  • DFA (Dependent Failure Analysis).
  • Hardware Safety Metrics: Perform Hardware Architecture Metrics (FMEDA) and PMHF (Probabilistic Metric for Random Hardware Failures) analysis as per ISO 26262 requirements.
  • Embedded Software: Understand and analyze embedded software code and functional flow, leveraging your experience with embedded software development using C.
  • System Behavior: Possess a good understanding of Vehicle Dynamics Control System behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Interface: Act as a key interface between cross-functional departments for all safety-related activities.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present project safety status reports for weekly reviews.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct Functional Safety Audits.
  • Problem Solving: Apply systematic problem-solving skills to complex safety challenges.
  • Communication: Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective collaboration and documentation.

Mandatory Skills

  • Embedded Software: Experience with embedded software development using C, along with the ability to understand software codes and functional flow.
  • Safety Analysis: Proven experience in conducting safety analyses like FMEA, FTA, and DFA for system, software, and hardware.
  • Hardware Metrics: Experience with Hardware Architecture metrics (FMEDA) and PMHF analysis as per ISO 26262 requirements.
  • Functional Safety Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working specifically in Automotive Functional Safety.

Preferable Skills

  • Automotive Safety Products: Knowledge of automotive safety products, especially airbag control units and ADAS systems (with Vision and Radar as sensors).
  • Product Development Lifecycle: Knowledge of the overall Product Development Lifecycle is a plus.
