Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage projects ensuring:

  • Technical and quality performance
  • Compliance with Project Charter and manufacturing requirements
  • Adherence to capital and start-up budgets

Provide capital project estimates for cost, schedule, and technical performance

Execute basic and detailed design based on:

  • General Mills Guidelines & Standards
  • Local statutory requirements
  • User requirement specifications
  • Safety, quality, operability, maintainability, and reliability standards

Implement improvement projects:

  • Capacity enhancement
  • Debottlenecking
  • Efficiency improvement
  • Maintain quality standards in equipment selection and execution (e.g., Sanitary Design, GMP, HACCP)
  • Ensure safety during construction and ongoing plant operations
  • Manage external interactions with business partners, consultants, and contractors
  • Support the capital sourcing process:
  • Raise indents
  • Seek approvals
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record maintenance
  • Provide relevant cash flow insights to the plant for ongoing/future projects
  • Ensure compliance with Fixed Assets and Capital Projects policies
  • Mentor Manufacturing Platform teams in:
  • Idea generation
  • Execution excellence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ years' experience with capital project execution
  • Plant operations/industrial environment experience with strong knowledge of equipment design
  • Deep understanding of food safety, human safety, and environmental policies
  • Project engineering expertise including:
  • Scope definition
  • Cost estimation
  • Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) management
  • Proven experience managing concurrent assignments
  • Strong technical leadership and collaboration abilities
  • Analytical problem-solving using data and judgment
  • Adaptability to work through uncertainty with professionalism

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing regulations (GMP, Food Safety, Sanitation, Design)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Vertical Start-up processes
  • 2+ years of plant maintenance experience

  • MIDC, MSEB, W&M, DISH, MPCB, Fire Dept. (as required)
