Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management:
- Implement and monitor safety policies, procedures, and standards in line with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and facility inspections.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Incident & Emergency Management:
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans including fire safety, chemical spill management, and evacuation procedures.
- Conduct mock drills and evaluate emergency preparedness effectiveness.
Training & Awareness:
- Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations for the chemical industry.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for inspections, audits, and reporting.
- Maintain required documentation for compliance and audits.
Process Safety & Environmental Management:
- Collaborate with process engineering and operations teams to uphold process safety standards.
- Participate in HAZOP studies and safety reviews for new and existing processes.
- Manage hazardous materials, effluent treatment, waste disposal, and environmental monitoring.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Issue daily safety work permits and observe unsafe conditions.
- Manage PPEs across shifts and conduct toolbox talks and safety training sessions.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of fire hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, and public address systems.
- Operate and maintain zero-discharge effluent treatment plant and ensure compliance with PCB reporting requirements.
