File Engineering Executive

Key Responsibilities

Document Formatting & Layout Design (File Engineer)

• Format and design various document types including brochures, reports, and manuals
• Maintain correct alignment, fonts, styles, and brand consistency across materials
• Handle multilingual typesetting, including regional and RTL languages, with linguistic accuracy
• Prepare print-ready files, ensuring high-resolution outputs and printer specifications compliance

Software Proficiency & Tool Handling (File Engineer)

• Work on Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, MS Office, and other DTP tools
• Ensure compatibility with translation software (SDL Trados, MemoQ, and other CAT tools)
• Perform DTP tasks for RTL languages (Urdu, Arabic, Persian/Farsi) across all mentioned software platforms

Linguistic & Regional Language Proficiency (Both Roles)

• Demonstrate command over at least one regional language (Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, etc.) or one RTL language (Urdu, Arabic, Persian/Farsi)
• Conduct basic linguistic QA, ensuring accurate font rendering, spacing, and special character display in LTR and RTL content

Quality Assurance & Error Checking (Quality Analyst)

• Verify translation accuracy, grammar, and contextual integrity across content
• Cross-check formatting, alignment, font rendering, line breaks, and directionality in RTL scripts
• Validate adherence to translation memory (TM) and glossary usage, correcting any inconsistencies
• Perform QA using tools like Xbench, Verifika, and built-in CAT tool QA features
• Document and report quality issues, providing feedback for continuous improvement

Collaboration & Communication (Both Roles)

• Coordinate closely with translators, proofreaders, and project managers
• Understand client-specific formatting, linguistic, and branding requirements
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and feedback loops for better output and process efficiency

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in DTP or linguistic QA roles
• Proficiency in: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, MS Office
• Strong understanding and working experience in RTL language DTP workflows
• Skilled in quality checking translated documents and ensuring localization accuracy
• Must be proficient in at least one regional or RTL language
• Experience with CAT tools and QA tools (SDL Trados, MemoQ, Xbench, Verifika, etc.)
• High attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
