Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Faculty of English to teach courses in their area of expertise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lectures, fostering a supportive learning environment, and conducting scholarly research.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Teaching and Instruction:
- Teach courses in your area of expertise, ensuring content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with curriculum standards.
- Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and other instructional materials.
- Accommodate diverse learning styles using a variety of teaching methods.
- Student Support:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
- Participate in academic advising, student mentoring, and other support activities.
- Research and Scholarship:
- Conduct research in your field of specialization and publish scholarly articles.
- Participate in academic conferences and seminars.
- Collaboration and Administration:
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives to enhance the quality of education and research.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of academic programs and curriculum design.
- Fulfill administrative responsibilities assigned by department chairs.
- Stay current with developments in your field through professional development.
Skills Required
- Education: A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in the relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in the subject area with a record of scholarly achievements, such as publications, presentations, and research grants.
- Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver lectures and provide feedback.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
