Job Description

Role Overview: Estimator II

As an Estimator II at Worley, you will collaborate within a dynamic and inclusive estimating team to prepare cost estimates for domestic and international projects. This role requires independent execution of Class 2 and Class 3 estimates, in accordance with Worley's estimating standards and AACEI guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed Class 2 & Class 3 estimates as per AACEI classification system.
  • Independently develop scope from P&IDs and engineering or construction drawings.
  • Translate engineering MTOs (Material Take-Offs) into estimate workbooks with accurate CAPEX cost allocations.
  • Develop detailed Basis of Estimate (BOE) reports, including assumptions, exclusions, and methodology.
  • Estimate field installation workhours for disciplines such as:
  • Pipeline
  • Mechanical and Piping
  • Civil and Structural
  • Electrical and Instrumentation
  • Segregate estimates by construction work areas or work packages.
  • Engage with the local vendor network to obtain budgetary quotations.
  • Participate in and support the development of estimating standards, systems, and benchmarking tools.
  • Peer-review team estimates and offer mentoring support as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations with effective communication of estimate justifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years in cost estimation roles.
  • Proficient in:
  • AACEI estimate classification standards
  • Capital cost estimation and unit-rate methodologies
  • Estimation tools and practices for greenfield, brownfield, and modular projects
  • Construction and vendor market trends (domestic & international)

Tools & Process Expertise

  • Strong understanding of estimation systems, workflows, and productivity norms.
  • Capable of estimating both direct and indirect costs across disciplines.
  • Skilled in MS Excel, cost estimation software, and database integration tools.

Supervision & Decision Making

  • Independently manages tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Exercises judgment in planning work and resolving estimation-related challenges.
  • Receives general technical guidance; duties are assigned monthly, and work is reviewed for accuracy on a periodic basis.

Education & Certifications

  • Required: Full-time Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred) from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Certifications or training in cost estimating methodologies or tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
