ENM OP Medical coders

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical documentation for outpatient encounters and assign appropriate E/M levels.
• Apply correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on CMS, payer, and official coding guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and organizational coding standards.
• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks (typically 95%+ accuracy).
• Use tools like EMRs/EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.) and coding platforms (3M, EncoderPro, etc.).
• Collaborate with QA teams, providers, and other departments for coding clarifications.
• Stay up to date with changes in coding policies and payer regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate in Life Sciences / Paramedical / Allied Health preferred.
• Certifications:
• Mandatory: CPC, COC, or CCS (from AAPC or AHIMA)
• Preferred: Specialty certification in E/M or Outpatient Coding (if available)
• Experience:
• 1–3 years of experience in E/M outpatient coding.
• Freshers with valid CPC certification may be considered for trainee roles.
