ENGINEER-SOFTWARE TEST&RELEASE

An early-career engineer responsible for executing modem and UE protocol stack testing across multiple radio access technologies (RATs), including 2G through 5G. Applies foundational knowledge of telecommunications protocols and scripting to validate interoperability with major network vendors. Works under close supervision, supports test execution and debugging, and actively improves skills through hands-on tasks and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation for assigned test activities.
• Execute protocol test plans and test cases for 2G/3G/LTE/5G modem stack verification.
• Conduct interoperability testing with various network operators and vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent).
• Analyze signaling and user-plane logs using tools like QXDM, QCAT, Anritsu, Keysight.
• Automate test scenarios using Python, Perl, TTCN, and contribute to regression testing.
• Collect traces, analyze core dumps, and support issue debugging and triage.
• Adhere to internal guidelines and provide regular status updates to team leads.
• Continuously improve domain and technical skills through training and self-learning.

Education & Experience

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent
• Experience: 0–2 years in telecom, embedded systems, or protocol validation

Core Competencies

• Understanding of 3GPP specifications, Layer 2/3 protocols, NAS layer, and UE–RAN/core signaling flows
• Modem stack testing and interoperability validation processes
• Scripting Languages: Python, Perl, Shell, TCL, TTCN
• Development & Debug Tools:
• QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu RTD, Keysight
• Core dump analyzers, flashing/debugging tools
• Platforms: Linux host systems; internal and customer-specific test environments
