Job Title: Electrical Estimation Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimation Engineer to review tender documents, analyse project scope, and prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in oil & gas projects. The role involves estimating electrical works for E-Houses, Control Rooms, Modular Buildings, and Living Quarters, ensuring competitive and profitable project bids.

The ideal candidate will support business growth through cost control, risk analysis, value engineering, and strategic bid preparation for upstream and midstream oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tender Evaluation

• Review and analyse tender documents, technical specifications, and project scope.
• Interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, and datasheets.
• Identify project risks, cost drivers, and technical requirements.

2. Cost Estimation

Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems including:

• MV/LV power distribution systems
• Electrical lighting and small power systems
• Cable routing, cable trays, and MCT systems
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Substations, switchgear, transformers, and MCCs
• Instrumentation and control wiring
• Fire & gas detection systems
• Fire suppression systems
• Telecom systems

3. Quantity Take-Off

• Extract material quantities from IFC/FEED drawings using manual or software tools.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for electrical equipment and materials.

4. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

• Float enquiries to vendors and subcontractors.
• Evaluate quotations technically and commercially.
• Integrate vendor inputs into final cost estimates.

5. BOQ & Pricing

• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing sheets aligned with client formats.
• Ensure estimates comply with internal costing structures and project requirements.

6. Proposal & Technical Support

• Provide technical inputs for proposals and tender submissions.
• Assist in preparing clarifications and responses to client queries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 3–8 years of experience in electrical estimation within Oil & Gas EPC or contracting companies.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical drawings and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with international electrical standards such as:
• IEC
• NEC
• IEEE
• ADNOC
• Aramco specifications
• Knowledge of Middle East client standards (ADNOC, PDO, QP, Aramco).
• Exposure to offshore electrical systems and hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools.
• Experience with Candy or CCS estimation software is an advantage.
