Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
• Serve as Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects, performing moderately complex engineering assignments and applying standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.
• Provide technical knowledge and administrative supervision for mid-size/large projects, including planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing, cost estimating and analysis, change management, and implementation of quality steps.
• Develop and review electrical system specifications, including design criteria.
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting.
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems.
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and across other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems of varying complexity in line with organizational and project objectives.
• Apply cost-competitive execution techniques to deliver the most cost-effective solutions for discipline engineering work.
• Coordinate with project teams for electrical packages, hazardous area classification, substation layouts, motor schematics, cable schedules, and interface with mechanical packages.
• Leverage software tools such as ETAP or SKM for electrical system analysis and design.
