Ecommerce Architect

Responsibilities:

• Platform Architecture & Implementation
• Define and own the eCommerce architecture vision, roadmap, and standards aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, SAP Hybris ).
• Lead end-to-end implementation of cloud-based ecommerce platforms, with preference for at least 2 cloud-based platform (e.g., Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, SAP Hybris ).
• Design and implement headless commerce architecture to support omnichannel customer experiences
• Architect scalable, high-performance solutions capable of handling retail volumes and complexity
• Ensure platform integration with existing enterprise systems and third-party services
• Order Management & Systems Integration
• Design and implement comprehensive Order Management Systems (OMS) tailored for grocery operations
• Architect integration solutions connecting ecommerce platform with:
• Inventory management systems
• Payment processing platforms
• Customer relationship management (CRM) systems
• Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Third-party logistics providers and fulfillment partners
• Grocery-Specific Solutions
• Implement timeslot management systems for delivery and pickup scheduling
• Design solutions for perishable goods handling, inventory rotation, and expiration management
• Architect multi-location inventory visibility and fulfillment routing
• Implement grocery-specific features including substitution management, weight-based pricing, and department-specific workflows
• Technical Leadership
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Lead technical discussions and solution presentations with client teams
• Provide guidance on best practices for ecommerce platform selection and implementation
• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements
• Required Qualifications
• Experience Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on ecommerce experience with demonstrable track record of successful implementations, must have grocery implementation
• Proven experience with at least 2 cloud-based ecommerce platforms, (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, SAP Hybris).
• Full implementation experience from requirements gathering through go-live and post-launch optimization
• Grocery retail industry experience with understanding of unique operational challenges and requirements
• Technical Expertise
• Headless commerce architecture design and implementation
• Order Management Systems configuration and customization
• Systems integration experience including APIs, middleware, and data synchronization
• Timeslot management and scheduling system implementation (is nice to have )
• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API-first design principles
