Director Engineering || Platform - Diversity Hiring

About the Role

We are hiring a Director, Engineering – Platform for a global, product-led technology organization.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for owning and evolving a core enterprise platform built on cloud-native, API-first, microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization and evolution of a Java-based microservices platform
• Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with product and business goals
• Develop technology roadmaps in partnership with Product leadership
• Drive API-first, cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS architecture
• Lead and mentor globally distributed engineering teams (including managers and pod leads)
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Embed GenAI adoption across the SDLC to improve productivity and time-to-market
• Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of the platform
• Guide ERP and enterprise system integrations to enable robust data flows and business alignment
• Oversee B2B API platform capabilities, enabling secure partner and customer integrations
• Manage engineering capacity, budgets, and resource optimization
• Lead the transition from regional engineering silos to unified global teams
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, Sales, and other stakeholders

Required Experience

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering
• 6+ years in engineering leadership roles (Senior Manager / Director level)
• Proven experience building and scaling large distributed systems
• Strong background in Java-based microservices architecture
• Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred)
• Hands-on exposure to API design, integration frameworks, and DevOps practices
• Experience leading teams through platform modernization and technical debt reduction
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Solid understanding of software and infrastructure cost dynamics
• Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
