Job Description

A Direct Sales Manager in insurance leads, trains, and motivates a team of agents to meet sales targets by developing strategies, analyzing data, ensuring compliance, and fostering client/agent relationships, focusing on growing business through direct sales efforts and managing performance to achieve company goals. They handle recruitment, strategy, training, reporting, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations, bridging the gap between senior management and frontline sales. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of insurance agents, setting performance standards and providing ongoing coaching.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales plans, set targets, and drive strategies to achieve or exceed sales goals for various insurance products (life, health, P&C).
  • Performance Management: Monitor sales performance, analyze data to identify trends, and report results to senior management.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, agents, and internal teams (like marketing).
  • Compliance & Regulation: Ensure all sales activities comply with insurance laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Problem Resolution: Address escalated customer complaints and agent issues. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in insurance sales and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and the industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills for data interpretation and strategy development.
  • Knowledge of CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office.
  • Bachelor's degree (often in Business/Finance).
