Data Modelling & Power BI Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement efficient and scalable data models to support business reporting and analytics requirements.
• Develop, customize, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide insights into key business metrics.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize data sources and data refresh processes for performance and accuracy in Power BI.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance in all BI solutions.
• Perform DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) scripting to build advanced calculations and measures.
• Provide training and support to end-users to maximize adoption and effective use of Power BI tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Document data models, dashboards, and BI processes for knowledge sharing and audit purposes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data modelling and business intelligence.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query.
• Solid experience with DAX for creating complex calculations and KPIs.
• Expertise in relational databases and SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience with dimensional modelling concepts such as star schema, snowflake schema, and data normalization.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), or other BI tools.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum project delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI).
