Job Purpose

Ensure width and depth of distribution of Colgate Palmolive products in the assigned zone and implement Customer Development strategies to achieve sales and distribution objectives.

Job Context

Ensure effective execution of Customer Development strategies and scheme rollouts by working closely with stockists, Distributor Sales Representatives, and Pilot Sales Representatives.

Key Accountabilities

Distribution Management

  • Manage trade operations and identify new markets/accounts for direct coverage
  • Add specialty wholesalers and classify stores accurately by retail environment (RE)
  • Drive SSM efforts to reduce non-purchasing stores
  • Utilize activations to boost sales
  • Ensure efficient sales calls, storytelling, range selling, and objection handling

In-store Management

  • Prioritize key accounts for visibility, ensuring coverage of top 2 outlets in each route

Market Updates

  • Gather and analyze competitive intelligence on new products, activities, schemes, etc.

Data-Based Working & Communication

  • Leverage data for performance improvement
  • Set visit objectives, review sales associate and PSR performance
  • Monitor stockist performance

Developing & Training

  • Train sales associates on new products, toothbrush assortments, and PASSION (medical store focus)
  • Mentor and empower SSMs to avail company benefits
  • Address field issues faced by associates

Meetings

  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with sales associates

Reporting

  • Compile and share reports as per AM guidelines

Relationship Building

  • Build trust with stockists and trade partners
  • Partner with key wholesalers to drive growth
  • Share success stories and support category growth

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in FMCG
  • Postgraduate or MBA
