Inviting applications for the role of Consultant- Test Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer (QA) to support enterprise-scale COBOL to .NET migration programs. The role focuses on validating functional equivalence, data integrity, performance, and regulatory compliance during modernization of legacy mainframe systems to modern .NET platforms.
Responsibilities
. Migration Testing Strategy
.Define and execute test strategy for legacy modernization.
.Validate functional parity between COBOL and .NET systems.
.Design test plans for:
oBatch processing validation
oOnline transaction validation
oData migration & reconciliation
.Support parallel run testing.

2. Functional & Regression Testing
.Create detailed:
oTest scenarios
oTest cases
oTest data
.Execute SIT and UAT cycles.
.Ensure no business logic deviations post migration.
.Validate exception handling and edge cases.

3. Data Migration & Reconciliation Testing
.Validate DB2/VSAM to SQL Server/Oracle migration.
.Perform record-level reconciliation between:
oLegacy mainframe
oNew .NET application
.Verify:
oData completeness
oAccuracy
oReferential integrity
.Prepare reconciliation reports.

4. Batch & Integration Testing
.Validate batch job outputs (EOD/BOD processing).
.Test API integrations and middleware connections.
.Verify file-based and message-based integrations.
.Monitor logs and analyze job failures.

5. Automation Testing (Preferred)
.Develop automation scripts using:
oSelenium
oPlaywright
oRestAssured
oNUnit / xUnit
.Automate regression test packs.
.Support CI/CD integrated testing.

6. Performance & Non-Functional Testing
.Support performance testing (JMeter/LoadRunner).
.Validate system scalability and response times.
.Ensure performance is equal or better than legacy.

7. Defect Management & Reporting
.Log and track defects in Jira/Azure DevOps.
.Perform root cause analysis with developers.
.Prepare test summary and sign-off reports.
Support go-live readiness validation
