Inviting applications for the role of Consultant_ GCP Data Engineer
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineer with relevant years of experience to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), supporting our analytics and reporting needs.
You will work closely with senior engineers and data scientists to learn and implement best practices in data engineering within the GCP environment. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your cloud data engineering skills and contribute to impactful data-driven initiatives
Responsibilities
.Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines on GCP using services like Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and Cloud Functions.
.Build and optimize data transformations and ETL/ELT processes to prepare data for analysis.
.Should be proficient in DBT( let). Can able to write the DBT pipeline.
.Ingest and process data from various sources into Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery.
.Monitor data pipelines for performance and reliability and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
.Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and provide necessary data infrastructure.
.Implement data quality checks and ensure data accuracy within GCP.
.Assist senior engineers in the implementation of data governance and security policies on GCP.
.Learn and adopt new GCP data engineering services and best practices.
.Document data pipelines and processes clearly.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
.Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
.Minimum years of experience in data engineering or related role.
.Hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its core data services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, DBT, Dataform,Dataflow, Cloud Composer).
.Strong proficiency in SQL and a good understanding of relational databases.
.Experience with at least one programming language relevant to data engineering (e.g., Python).
.Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing principles.
.Basic understanding of data quality and data governance concepts.
.Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
.Familiarity with data streaming concepts and tools like Pub/Sub.
.Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
.Basic understanding of data modeling principles.
.Experience with data visualization tools.
.Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer).
.Experience working in an agile development environment.
