Measures of Success

  • In 6 months, you will have:A full understanding of your portfolio of brands.
  • Started building relationships with key stakeholders across the agency.
  • Driven an audience-first thinking approach to audience sizing, segmentation, media behavior mapping, and innovation recommendations.
  • Correlated media investments on Television to sales, distribution, and brand health metrics to derive actionable recommendations.
  • Become adept at addressing client queries and creating playbooks on topics like edit strategy, celebrity effectiveness, and media partnerships.
  • Shared valuable insights on the overall market, key competitors, and the media owner ecosystem (e.g., the implications of the Jio-Hotstar merger on campaigns).
  • In 12 months, you will have:Led the annual planning process for your clients.
  • Used GroupM tools and measurement frameworks to create strategies and media investments that drive KPIs.
  • Won awards in both internal and external forums for your strategic work.
  • Secured exclusive and first-to-market opportunities for clients, including tech partnerships.
  • Suggested and implemented technology solutions that improve process efficiency and effectiveness (e.g., dashboarding, automated reporting).

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Act as the client's strategic advisor on all communication-related issues for the brand and category.
  • Clarify, formalize, and manage client expectations on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervise and lead Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and Communication Review work with your teams, leveraging GroupM's research, systems, and tools.

What You Will Need

  • Deep expertise in FMCG planning, with practical expertise in the 'How Brands Grow' model of marketing.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to generate case studies and confidently present client-centric perspectives to senior management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar setup, with exposure to TV planning and knowledge of BARC YUMI/TGI/GWI being a must.
  • A proven track record of developing annual and TV media strategies for a top 5 advertiser in the country. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on both premium and rural brands.
  • Experience in building and presenting strategic and thought leadership initiatives to senior management, including analytics, integrated ideas, and measurement frameworks.
