Job Description

A Business Development Executive (BDE) in textiles identifies growth opportunities, builds client relationships, researches market trends, and creates strategies to increase sales of fabrics, garments, or related chemicals/machinery, focusing on lead generation, negotiation, and achieving revenue targets by understanding industry dynamics and collaborating cross-functionally. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Analyze textile market trends, competitor activities, and new potential markets (domestic/international).
  • Lead Generation: Proactively find new clients (mills, brands, manufacturers) through networking, trade shows, and research.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs.
  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market presence and meet sales goals.
  • Sales & Negotiation: Present products/solutions, negotiate pricing and contracts, and close deals.
  • Collaboration: Work with marketing, production, and support teams for seamless client delivery.
  • Reporting: Track business performance, manage CRM, and report on progress. 

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of textiles, garments, dyes, or related products.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong negotiation, communication, and closing skills.
  • Networking: Ability to build professional networks and attend events.
  • Strategic Thinking: Market analysis and strategy development.
  • Adaptability: Staying current with industry changes and trends.
  • Experience: Previous sales/customer-facing roles often required or preferred. 

Industry Specifics

  • May focus on specific areas like dyes/pigments, fabric sourcing, or technical textiles.
  • Understanding global compliance standards (GOTS, BSCI) can be crucial for export markets
