Job Description
The BMS Integrator is a crucial role focused on ensuring Battery Management Systems (BMS) communicate effectively with power electronics and control systems. This is vital for optimizing battery performance and safety in large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will be responsible for developing, integrating, and validating BMS solutions that ensure safe operation and seamless communication with PCS/SCADA systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Integrate BMS hardware and software with battery packs to ensure seamless communication and functionality.
- Develop firmware and algorithms for key battery state estimations, including State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SoH), and State of Power (SoP).
- Validate BMS functionality and cell balancing algorithms through rigorous testing, including dynamic load cycles.
- Troubleshoot and debug systems by analyzing site data and using lab testing setups like Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
Education, Qualifications, and Skills
- Education: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience working with BMS for Li-ion batteries is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Embedded C/C++ for BMS firmware development is essential.
- You must have experience with BMS protocols like CAN and Modbus.
- Proficiency with analysis tools like CANalyzer or Wireshark for protocol analysis is required.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, such as IEC 62619 (BESS safety standards), is necessary.
Working Conditions
This role involves a mix of lab and field work:
- Lab Testing: You will work with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups in a lab environment.
- Site Work: You will perform site data analysis for debugging and development purposes.
