Basketball Coach

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular training sessions focusing on physical conditioning, skill development, and tactical gameplay.
• Design practice schedules and game strategies appropriate for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.
• Teach fundamental techniques such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and rebounding.
• Scout and mentor talented players to represent the institution in competitive tournaments.
• Organize and supervise intra-mural competitions, trials, and selection camps.
• Accompany and guide students during competitions and ensure proper conduct and performance.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of basketball courts and training equipment.
• Promote basketball through workshops, clinics, and awareness programs.
• Maintain student attendance, progress records, and performance assessments.
• Encourage team spirit, fair play, and academic balance among student-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (any stream).
• Coaching certification from a recognized authority (e.g., Basketball Federation of India, SAI, NIS, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Prior experience as a player or coach at school/college/state level.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and training methodologies.
• Experience coaching youth or college-level teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate, inclusive, and competitive programs.
• First aid knowledge and understanding of injury prevention practices.
