Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Strategy & Target Achievement: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets for deposits, loans, investments, insurance, and other banking products.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and refine sales approaches.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews to senior management.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of banking sales executives/officers.
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on customer centricity and ethical practices.
- Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the sales team.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and high-net-worth individuals.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a superior customer experience.
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to maximize customer value.
- Conduct client meetings and presentations to promote banking products and services.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations (e.g., RBI guidelines), and ethical standards.
- Oversee the accurate and timely completion of all sales-related documentation and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Credit) to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
- Monitor and manage sales pipeline, ensuring efficient lead conversion.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated with industry trends, new product offerings, and regulatory changes in the banking sector.
- Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market demands.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in banking sales, with at least 2 years in a team leading or supervisory role.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets in retail banking.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of retail banking products (e.g., savings accounts, current accounts, personal loans, home loans, credit cards, mutual funds, insurance).
- Customer-centric approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
