Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales Strategy & Target Achievement: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets for deposits, loans, investments, insurance, and other banking products.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and refine sales approaches.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews to senior management.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of banking sales executives/officers.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on customer centricity and ethical practices.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the sales team.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a superior customer experience.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to maximize customer value.
  • Conduct client meetings and presentations to promote banking products and services.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations (e.g., RBI guidelines), and ethical standards.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of all sales-related documentation and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Credit) to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor and manage sales pipeline, ensuring efficient lead conversion.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated with industry trends, new product offerings, and regulatory changes in the banking sector.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market demands.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in banking sales, with at least 2 years in a team leading or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets in retail banking.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail banking products (e.g., savings accounts, current accounts, personal loans, home loans, credit cards, mutual funds, insurance).
  • Customer-centric approach with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
