Azure migration

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate on-premises transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and plan migrations to AWS RDS and Aurora
• Enhance database PLSQL/TSQL scripts to migrate from source to target databases
• Identify workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
• Develop test plans and test cases to demonstrate database readiness post-migration

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience in database development/migration using Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, SCT, and DMS
• Experience migrating large databases (>1TB) across multiple database engines (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB)
• Experience with heterogeneous database migrations
• Experience in performance optimization techniques
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python
• Experience in database administration tasks like backup/restore and replication
