Job Description
Arrow Electronics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Azure Architect to join our Cloud Engineering team at our Bangalore, India facility. The Azure Cloud Architect will be a technical subject matter expert in the IaaS/PaaS/SaaS Public Cloud domain, providing architectural guidance and hands-on implementation expertise. This role will also involve facilitating project management cycles, collaborating directly with Arrow's internal application services group, and maintaining a high level of technical aptitude in cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
What You Will Be Doing :
As an Azure Cloud Architect, your responsibilities will include:
- Azure Networking & Troubleshooting: Possessing deep expertise in Azure Private DNS Zones, Private Endpoints, ExpressRoute, and BGP routing, along with strong troubleshooting skills for complex network issues.
- Azure Best Practices: Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions while strictly adhering to Azure best practices and architectural patterns.
- Landing Zones: Architecting and implementing robust Azure Landing Zones to ensure streamlined governance, enhanced security, and accelerated cloud adoption across the enterprise.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automating infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines.
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS): Designing, managing, and securing AKS clusters, including the implementation of Helm charts and GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
- API Management: Managing Azure API Management (APIM) for secure API exposure, implementing OAuth, Managed Identities, and enforcing API security best practices.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Developing and managing comprehensive CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps for efficient infrastructure and API automation.
- Security & Identity: Implementing robust security measures, including RBAC, Azure Entra ID, B2C, and External ID, and enforcing Zero Trust security models.
- Security Automation: Implementing automated security remediations, integrating with security platforms like Wiz, and defining and enforcing governance policies.
- WAF/CDN Solutions: Working with Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions such as Akamai and Azure Front Door for enhanced security and performance.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Mentoring junior team members, driving cloud automation initiatives, and encouraging continuous learning and certifications in Azure and AWS.
- RESTful APIs: Demonstrating a strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API Management operational mechanisms.
- Cost Optimization: Evaluating workload placements and architectures to optimize costs, performance, and security.
- Troubleshooting & Monitoring: Proficiently resolving technical issues, retrieving logs, and utilizing Application Insights for performance optimization and monitoring.
- Strategic Planning: Leading efforts to plan, engineer, and design cloud infrastructure, and evaluating, recommending, integrating, and coordinating enhancements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with IT Architects to ensure seamless integration of modified infrastructure, considering data conversion impacts, and addressing other areas of impact to meet project performance requirements.
- Infrastructure Development: Leading the development and configuration of infrastructure from conceptualization through stabilization, utilizing various computer platforms.
- Implementation & Verification: Leading the implementation of infrastructure by analyzing current system environments, using technical tools and utilities, performing complex product customization, and developing implementation and verification procedures.
- Resource Management: Leading routine infrastructure analysis and evaluation of resource requirements to maintain and/or expand service levels.
- Cost Estimation: Providing accurate cost estimates for new projects and initiatives.
- Documentation & Project Management: Collaborating in the creation of work/design documents, performing 'light' project management for onboarding requests, collaborating on scheduling actions, and following change control processes.
- Financial Reporting (Assist): Assisting in show-back/charge-back documentation and reports.
What We Are Looking For :
- Experience: Typically requires 12+ years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 3+ years with an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.
- Operating Systems: Prior experience supporting Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems in a corporate environment (on-premise or cloud) is required.
- Public Cloud IaaS: Prior experience designing and supporting IaaS infrastructure in a public cloud environment is strongly preferred.
- Azure Knowledge (Plus): Prior knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and PowerBI is a plus.
- Azure Expertise (Plus): Prior experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, Networking, and Security is a plus.
- Innovation: An innovative self-starter willing to learn, test, and implement new technologies on existing and new public cloud providers.
- Data & AI Services (Preferred): Experience with Databricks, Machine Learning via AKS, and Azure OpenAI Services is preferred.
- Soft Skills: A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across teams.
