Job Description
Cloud and Infrastructure Security Implementation
Implement best-practice security configurations across AWS cloud and on-premise datacentre environments. Support deployment of security tools across endpoints, servers, identity systems, and cloud infrastructure.
Operational Security Tasks
Participate in business-as-usual (BAU) activities including vulnerability management, patching processes, and deployment of Standard Operating Environments (SOEs).
Security Enablement and Planning
Collaborate with business units to create and execute deployment plans for new security capabilities, ensuring alignment with security standards and regulatory frameworks.
Cloud Security Architecture
Harden cloud and infrastructure environments using insights from third-party tools. Define and maintain secure cloud practices, ensuring effectiveness of reference architectures.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with architecture teams, platform owners, and key stakeholders to gather endorsement, align on strategic direction, and support implementation of security initiatives.
Risk and Issue Identification
Identify infrastructure and cloud-related risks or issues. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve the organization's overall security posture.
Cloud Services Selection and Cost Management
Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate and select appropriate cloud services based on performance, cost, data classification, and security requirements. Support efforts in estimating usage costs and implementing cost control mechanisms.
Work Planning and Autonomy
Own and manage your workload, timelines, and deliverables in line with objectives set by the Head of Infrastructure.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the IT industry
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in AWS environments
- Deep understanding of AWS core services and cloud-native security best practices
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and auditing tools
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, patching, and SOE deployments
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty)
- Sound knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Understanding of secure application lifecycle management and containerized application environments
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage workload independently
