Automation Engineer

• Meet customers and understand and capture their requirements and build various solutions that optimally solve customer problems and participate in proposal preparation and winning more customers.
• Critically evaluate the solutions and provide costing inputs for estimation, evaluate vendors and solution partners for products/sub-systems to enhance range of projects and solutions.
• Review and sign-off on final solution for technical feasibility
• Ideate and challenge the internal teams, and participate in improving solutions (margin, resource requirements or operational efficiency) and strengthen the business case and improve ROI for the customers.
• Control panel design responsibilities and guide vendor, share critical inputs in design phase.
• Track PLC programming as per development & PDQ/FAT testing schedule of project.
• Track Commissioning & handover activities at the site as per project schedule.
• Co-ordinate with site teams from vendor during commissioning & handover.
• Ensure to achieve agreed repeatability, accuracy and availability in systems.
• Ensure all required project documentation for electrical and controls is in place and produced as per requirement.
• Prioritize safety during design up to handover phase of project.
• Provide after-sales support to customers for service & maintenance.
• Candidate will have to travel to project sites as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Built and execute comprehensive industrial automation solutions required in Material testing, Metrology and other Customized solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Conveying, Material handling (Gantry/Robots), Sensors, Vision systems, Various reporting software.
• Awareness of IS, ISO, & various IEC codes used in control panel designing.
• Candidate Should have knowledge of electrical and power distribution and earthing systems, SLD, Power, signal and control architecture, Control panel design and testing.
• Experience in Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley PLC.
• PLC programming languages. (LAD, FBD, STL, SCL).
• Cable engineering, Cable termination, and sensor layout.
• Knowledge of HMI and other field devices and subsystems
• Knowledge of indirect addressing and arrays and should have worked with OPC systems.
• IP standards and knowledge of various electrical layouts.
• Servo motor & Servo drive, VFD & motion control configurations.
• Vision system: Cognex, Keyence, P&F.
• In-depth knowledge of various communications protocols and integration with customer MES, ERP/ IT networks.
• Basic know-how of IT hardware, workstations, Data acquisitions, calibrations.
