Automation Developer - Python

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Automation Developer - Python to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver with a strong background in Python development and data manipulation. This role is a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to assess, design, and implement automation solutions that drive business efficiency and innovation across the organization. You'll be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from initial analysis to final implementation and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Development:
• Understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Assess and identify business processes that are candidates for transformation and/or automation.
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical teams to brainstorm and assess the feasibility of solutions.
• Create and review solution design documents that clearly articulate the 'as-is' and 'to-be' states.
• Perform all aspects of the project lifecycle, including scoping, analysis, developing solutions, and implementing change.
• Participate in product backlog maintenance and grooming.
• Data Management & Automation:
• Efficiently develop and maintain scripts and queries to import, clean, transform, and augment large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Project Management & Collaboration:
• Participate in daily scrum stand-up meetings, backlog grooming sessions, review, and retrospective meetings.
• Work with Process Owners and Business Leads to roll out completed solutions to target teams/offices.
• Weekend testing will be required for releases (new functionality, bugs, enhancements, upgrades), generally one or two releases per quarter.

About You

• Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Python development.
• Experience using cloud infrastructure and source code control systems.
• Experience using APIs.
• Experience & Assets:
• Strong analytical skills for understanding business requirements and creating clear documentation.
• Experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, design docs, and process flows.
• Knowledge of financial products and hedge fund administration is an asset.
• Experience with RPA technologies such as UiPath, BluePrism, Automation Anywhere, and Power Automate is an asset.
• Experience with automated testing is an asset.
• Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is an asset.
• Associate-level technical certification is an asset.
