Automated Test Engineer

we're looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on QA/Test Engineer to join our team working on a large-scale data extraction and provisioning platform. you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of backend APIs, frontend interfaces, and data workflows. This role involves both manual and automated testing with a strong focus on integration testing, load/performance validation, and test automation across UI and API layers.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute integration and load test plans across APIs, data pipelines, and UI workflows
• Design and implement automated test scripts for REST APIs and frontend (Angular-based UI)
• Validate backend APIs for job execution, audit logging, and data extraction accuracy
• Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing across environments
• Use tools like Postman, JMeter, PyTest, or similar to create test suites
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps to integrate test cases in CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor system performance under various data and load conditions
• Maintain test documentation, logs, and reports; raise detailed defect reports
• Participate in agile ceremonies and support UAT during go-live cycles

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in QA engineering with strong focus on backend/API and UI testing
• Hands-on experience in integration and performance testing
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python or JavaScript
• Experience automating REST API testing using Postman, PyTest, or similar frameworks
• Proficient in testing Angular-based web applications
• Familiarity with load testing tools like Apache JMeter, PyTest
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with exposure to DevOps practices
• Understanding of SQL and ability to validate test results against SQL Server
• Familiarity with data pipeline testing and validation in ETL/ELT environments
• Exposure to Apache Airflow or workflow orchestration testing
• Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud (AWS) environments
