Associate I SQA Engineer - Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the product team to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with functional expectations
• Coordinate with Product and QA teams to translate requirements into Gherkin format for seamless integration into a BDD automation framework
• Design and develop maintainable automated test scripts using Java and Cucumber/Gherkin
• Execute test cases, analyze test results, and report defects using Elastic Search
• Work closely with product and development teams to identify and resolve requirement gaps and functional issues
• Liaise with the Performance Testing team to provide comprehensive functional details for performance test planning
• Act as a functional testing lead with strong domain knowledge and the technical skills to maintain automation scripts (not a purely technical role)

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding and hands-on experience in the Investment Banking domain
• Good knowledge of financial products and their characteristics
• Understanding of trade lifecycle and workflow within capital markets
• Familiarity with FPML schema design, XML messaging, and Message Queues (MQs)
• Experience supporting Business Analyst functions through technical documentation or solution validation
• Programming experience in Java for maintaining test automation frameworks
• Testing certifications such as ISTQB
• Domain certifications like NCFM or CFA Foundation are highly desirable
