Associate Hydraulic Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water flow patterns and flood risks, proposing effective mitigation measures.
• Design sustainable stormwater and drainage systems using AutoCAD, GIS, InfoDrainage, SewerGEMS, or similar tools.
• Oversee planning, design, and implementation of drainage projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to resolve design and implementation challenges.
• Ensure delivery of projects within budget, schedule, and technical quality standards, including QA, HSE, and sustainability requirements.
• Assist in preparing fee proposals and maintaining financial control of projects.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory approvals.
• Conduct site inspections to collect data and evaluate drainage system performance.
• Provide technical support and advice to engineers, planners, and construction managers.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring performance and professional development.
• Participate in client meetings, reviews, and presentations to represent the firm effectively.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience with reputed Indian or multinational engineering design firms.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (mandatory).
• Master's degree in Hydrology/Water Resources Engineering (preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification desirable.
• Proven expertise in hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessment, and SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) design.
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, GIS, InfoDrainage, SewerGEMS, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
• International project experience is an added advantage.
