Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care

  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates including diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring in the NICU and nursery
  • Manage preterm, low birth weight, and critically ill newborns requiring ventilatory and intensive care support
  • Participate in resuscitation and stabilization of newborns in delivery rooms and emergency settings

Team Collaboration

  • Assist senior consultants and work as part of a multidisciplinary care team
  • Coordinate with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure integrated neonatal care

Procedures & Monitoring

  • Perform neonatal procedures such as intubation, surfactant administration, umbilical line insertion, etc.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient condition and clinical guidelines

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and neonatal care standards

Communication & Counseling

  • Communicate effectively with parents and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis
  • Provide emotional support and counseling during critical care situations

Education & Learning

  • Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, and case discussions
  • Stay updated with the latest research and guidelines in neonatology

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • MD/DNB Pediatrics with Fellowship in Neonatology or DM Neonatology
  • 0 to 2 years of post-qualification experience in a tertiary-level NICU
  • Strong clinical acumen and patient-centered approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and emergencies
