• Maintain and regularly update rights management systems to accurately reflect ownership, term durations, language restrictions, and territory or platform limitations.

• Record and validate contract metadata including rights in/out details, holdbacks, and expiration timelines.

• Ensure that all rights information is systematically documented for easy access by internal stakeholders.

Content Clearance and Licensing

• Coordinate with production, legal, and content acquisition teams to obtain necessary clearances for content usage.

• Track and review licensing agreements, permissions, and restrictions associated with content assets.

• Ensure all required approvals and documentation are completed prior to content distribution or monetization.

Contract Interpretation and Rights Analysis

• Analyze licensing and distribution agreements to determine rights availability, restrictions, and contractual obligations.

• Interpret complex legal contracts to identify platform rights, territory rights, and language permissions.

• Prepare rights availability reports and share insights with sales, marketing, and programming teams.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation

• Monitor rights expirations, conflicts, and compliance restrictions to prevent unauthorized distribution.

• Identify potential legal risks related to content rights and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders.

• Assist in internal audits and due diligence processes related to content library acquisitions or distribution partnerships.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Support

• Act as a key point of contact for internal teams regarding content rights, licensing, and legal compliance matters.

• Work closely with legal, production, distribution, scheduling, marketing, and technology teams on content rights assignments.

• Provide guidance on rights usage and clearance requirements to ensure smooth operations across departments.
