Job Description

About the Role:

  • Monitor construction work daily to ensure it aligns with approved plans, specifications, and method statements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify any quality or safety issues and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Verify that all materials used on the project meet the required standards and are properly stored and handled.
  • Ensure that workers follow approved method statements and standard operating procedures for construction work.
  • Document all inspections and tests conducted on-site, maintaining accurate records of construction progress, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and sub-contractors, to keep everyone informed of construction progress and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor quality standards in line with QAP (Quality Assurance Plan) guidelines.
  • Ensure the availability of materials, equipment, and labor on-site.
  • Take on some responsibilities of a quality engineer, guiding working agencies on the available work front.
  • Conduct inspections and checks for all quality-related procedures on-site and ensure activities are performed as per the approved method of statement, including the closure of non-compliance reports.
  • Perform daily inspections and tests as necessary to achieve the required construction quality per drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractor representatives and site engineers for inspection adherence and non-compliance report closure.
  • Collaborate with contractor quality engineers to submit material submittals with detailed quality information.
  • Be responsible for the quality and workmanship of every activity and possess a thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering construction, including structural fabrication/erection, equipment erection/alignment, piping fabrication/erection, measurement verification, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with the civil department to ensure equipment readiness for erection and release for grouting after alignment.
  • Monitor policies and procedures and report areas for improvement.
  • Check P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram), isometric drawings, MOC (Method of Construction) for equipment & piping, and assembly work against approved GA (General Arrangement) drawings, ensuring their adequacy.
  • Oversee insulation activities and work front release after the hydrostatic test of piping/equipment.
  • Maintain good professional relationships with clients and proactively resolve major site-related issues.
