Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Cost Analysis:
- Analyze supplier quotations for electronics and electrical commodities (e.g., ECUs, wiring harnesses, switches, Body Controller Units, DC-DC converters, infotainment systems).
- Perform cost breakdowns and should-cost modeling to validate material, labor, overhead, and margin assumptions.
- Conduct market intelligence and benchmark analysis to ensure cost competitiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical experts to validate cost drivers.
- Provide fact-based inputs and cost justifications to support sourcing and negotiations.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities through design-to-cost, localization, and value engineering.
- Track and report key metrics related to cost competitiveness, benchmark adherence, and supplier performance.
Capacity Management:
- Collect, review, and validate supplier capacity data for critical semiconductor and electronics commodities.
- Assess supplier capabilities to meet current and future demand requirements.
- Conduct capacity forecasting and scenario planning to identify bottlenecks or overcapacity risks.
- Monitor global semiconductor and electronics supply chain trends and provide early-warning insights.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to delivery volumes and flexibility requirements.
- Develop dashboards to track supplier capacity, utilization, and delivery reliability.
- Provide fact-based capacity insights to sourcing teams during contract discussions.
Risk Mitigation & Reporting:
- Identify potential risks in cost and capacity, and propose mitigation measures (e.g., dual sourcing, buffer planning).
- Ensure transparency, fairness, and consistency in cost and capacity assessments.
- Present structured, data-driven insights to management for strategic decision-making.
