Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Trade Marketing Assistant Manager in the FMCG sector, you will be responsible for designing and executing trade marketing strategies that enhance product visibility, boost sales growth, and strengthen brand awareness across key channels and customers. You will plan and implement consumer engagement initiatives, coordinate events and product launches, and cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors. Your role also involves managing trade promotions, point of sale (POS) displays, and marketing activations to ensure the brand's success in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Trade Marketing Activities:
  • Design and implement targeted trade marketing campaigns across General Trade, Modern Trade, and Traditional Trade channels to increase brand presence and sales.
  • Consumer-Led Engagement Initiatives:
  • Create and execute consumer-centric programs such as sampling, loyalty schemes, and interactive experiences that increase brand affinity and purchase intent.
  • Plan and Execute Events & Exhibitions:
  • Lead the planning and flawless execution of trade/consumer events, exhibitions, and promotional activities to maximize brand exposure.
  • Coordinate Product Launches & Training:
  • Manage timely product launches and ensure the trade channel is equipped with product knowledge, promotional materials, and in-store displays. Organize training sessions for retailers and distributors.
  • Manage Trade Marketing Assets:
  • Maintain and update POS materials, merchandising tools, and product displays in alignment with brand guidelines, ensuring availability for trade use.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams & Vendors:
  • Work closely with sales, brand management, product development, and external vendors for seamless trade marketing execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct Market Research & Analysis:
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activities, and consumer behavior to inform trade marketing strategies. Monitor and optimize campaign effectiveness in real-time.
  • Negotiate Shelf Space & POS Displays:
  • Engage with retailers to secure optimal shelf placements and strategic POS display positioning to maximize visibility and impulse buying.
  • Manage Activations & Promotions:
  • Oversee retail activations including festivals, rural events, melas, and wholesale events to drive brand awareness and sales.
  • Develop Long-Term Media Properties:
  • Create and manage long-term trade marketing assets such as outdoor advertising, transit media, and other high-visibility platforms to boost brand recall.
  • Drive Promoter & Merchandiser Programs:
  • Manage and enhance the performance of promoters and merchandisers to deliver impactful in-store brand representation. Provide training and motivation to maximize productivity.
  • Bridge Business Objectives & Trade Execution:
  • Act as a crucial link between business goals and trade marketing execution, ensuring all initiatives deliver measurable outcomes aligned with marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or related FMCG roles.
  • Proven track record of managing trade marketing campaigns and cross-functional collaboration.
