Ass. Consultant - Laparoscopic, Endoscopic & Bariatric Surgery

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in and independently perform laparoscopic, endoscopic, and bariatric surgical procedures under the guidance of senior consultants.
• Evaluate patients for minimally invasive and bariatric procedures, including pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, and post-operative care.
• Participate in a wide range of general and specialized surgeries such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass.
• Provide continuous patient monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring safe recovery and follow-up.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic patient care.
• Handle post-surgical complications and emergencies under protocol-based supervision.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation including operative notes, discharge summaries, and follow-up records.
• Contribute to clinical audits, academic sessions, CMEs, and research publications within the department.
• Uphold surgical safety, infection control, and hospital quality standards at all times.

Desired Candidate Profile

• MS / DNB in General Surgery with fellowship or specialization in Minimal Access Surgery / Bariatric Surgery preferred.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant clinical and surgical experience.
• Hands-on expertise in laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques; bariatric surgery exposure is an advantage.
• Strong decision-making ability and sound clinical judgment.
• Excellent communication, patient interaction, and team collaboration skills.
