Area Claims Manager - Commercial

Profile / Function:

• Prepare various Excel reports and MS PowerPoint presentations on a monthly basis
• Manage survey deputation and maintain appropriate reserves at various intervals in a claim
• Regularly follow up and update claim status in the core system
• Process commercial claims, particularly in the Property line of business
• Maintain an inventory of claim files and prepare outstanding claim lists for analysis
• Monitor and manage TAT to ensure timely disposal of claims on a month-on-month basis
• Control claim ageing and restrict spillover into higher age bands
• Resolve challenges and ensure amicable disposal of claims
• Generate reports from the system for analysis and maintain master data for surveyors
• Coordinate with IT for system issues and administrative tasks
• Act as a Business Analyst with the IT team for new application development and IT enhancements
• Prepare various reports to meet internal and external audit requirements

Experience:

• 5–8 years of experience (minimum)
• Industry: General Insurance
• Specific expertise in Property Claims Handling
• Experience in managing internal and external audits
• Fair exposure to handling IT projects in commercial lines
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Qualifications:

• Graduate (mandatory)
• Postgraduate or Surveyor License for Property Line of Business (optional)
