Job Description
- Incident Management: Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Problem Management: Investigate and resolve recurring issues by identifying root causes and working with development teams to implement long-term fixes.
- System Monitoring: Utilize monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Elastic Search) to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Environment Management: Build and maintain both production and non-production environments, ensuring they are configured and functioning properly.
- Database Management: Work with databases, including writing and optimizing SQL queries, understanding database performance, and addressing related issues.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using Python, Perl, Bash, or Shell to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Scheduler Management: Manage and troubleshoot job scheduling tools like Autosys, Control-M, ensuring tasks run smoothly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to deploy new releases, patches, and updates with minimal impact on production environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, Perl, Bash, or Shell (proficiency in at least two).
- Proficient in SQL and Linux/Unix commands.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
- Exposure to highly distributed, high availability, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Deep understanding of database concepts, SQL queries, and database performance optimization.
- Experience with application monitoring and alerting tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or Elastic Search.
- Familiarity with job schedulers such as Autosys and Control-M.
- Experience in building and maintaining production and non-production environments.
- Proficiency with development tools like GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
