Job Description
- Lead the design and execution of climate-resilient agriculture and forestry-based carbon projects.
- Provide technical leadership on carbon sequestration, GHG mitigation, adaptation strategies, and carbon-positive farming systems.
- Develop crop- and region-specific climate-smart agronomy packages covering water management, nutrient optimization, and varietal selection.
- Integrate IPCC and ICAR guidelines with field data to create actionable farmer advisories.
- Guide stakeholders on carbon farming, agroforestry, conservation tillage, and cover cropping practices.
- Design and deliver trainings, workshops, and Training of Trainers (ToTs) for field teams, FPOs, and partners.
- Support development of climate advisory content for digital platforms including AI/LLM-based tools.
- Liaise with state agriculture departments, ICAR institutions, UN agencies, and climate finance bodies.
- Draft policy briefs, training manuals, log frames, KPIs, grant proposals, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct carbon stock mapping using geospatial tools and forest inventory data.
- Quantify carbon potential and lead GHG reduction and biodiversity impact assessments.
- Manage multi-source datasets (weather, soil, biodiversity) with quality control and compliance checks.
- Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and represent the organization at climate and sustainability forums.
- Ensure alignment with national climate policies, Biodiversity Act (2002), ABS mechanisms, and donor reporting standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI-driven insights into climate and agriculture programs.
