Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Accounting Controllership team based in Bangalore
Oversee monthly/quarterly close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal/external reporting
Lead internal management reporting and support external audits (ICFR, SOX, GFS)
Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements to enable scalability and efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve issues during close cycles
Document and improve internal control processes and support audit deliverables
Create, maintain, and enhance accounting policy and procedure documentation
Implement automation, lean practices, and process optimization to improve metrics
Drive global best practices, share knowledge across teams and locations
Lead and mentor team members to uphold Stripe's leadership values and culture
Partner with global process owners to ensure performance standards and improvement
Drive cross-functional projects to enhance visibility, automation, and performance
Who You Are:
You're a strategic and detail-oriented accounting leader with a passion for process excellence and building world-class controllership functions.
Minimum Requirements:
8–12+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry
Experience leading accounting teams in multi-location, multicultural environments
B.Com & M.Com in Accounting or Finance; CA or CPA strongly preferred
Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and hands-on accounting experience
Proven track record of working with large data sets and advanced Excel skills
Big 4 audit, accounting, and risk review exposure (preferred)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business, or STEM; MBA preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience scaling and launching new finance operations teams
Familiarity with financial metrics, planning, and executive reporting
Experience in high-growth tech companies with strong service delivery
Skilled in data analysis, root cause identification, and driving outcomes
Strong verbal and written communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
